LAST CALL
the soundtrack
This 18-song soundtrack co-produced by life long friends and band mates, Corky Laing, George Gardos and Nick Ferrantella, includes acoustic remakes of Mountain's "Nantucket Sleighride" and "For Yasgur's Farm" sung by Corky Laing legendary drummer for the ground breaking, 70's hard rock band Mountain.
"Twilight Zone" is an original guitar rock song written and sung by Robert Van Arsdale reminiscent of his hard rocking, island summer night gigs; Van shows his versatility singing "Darlin", an original 50's ballad written by Nantucket's legendary band leader, Jimmy Duarte.
"Tourist Town" is a musical look at the downside of living on a vacation island paradise, written and sung by Nantucket Magazine editor Steve Sheppard, featuring the double bass of Erick Wendelken and the incredible violin playing of David Pollan. Steve is the writer of the official song for Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox.
"In This World" and "Genuine" written by Corky and sung beautifully by Melanie Doane, are recent collaborations by Laing and Eric Shenkman of the Spin Doctors. Melanie recently received Best New Artist honors at Canada's Juno Awards.
Jon Pousette-Dart contributes seven wonderfully refreshing and tastefully crafted short songs that magically tie the songs of the soundtrack to the film and to each other. Jon's new enhanced CD, "Sample This", has put his music back on many radio station play lists.
"Corrina" a traditional folk rock song played by Energy at Thirty Acres by Gardos and Laing and Gary Ship in the late 60's along with the Van Morrison favorite "Into the Mystic" are simply done and a great reminder of those foggy nights and packed dance floors. David Perry, sings "The Last Time" accompanied by Van Arsdale, Gardos and Ferrantella, to close out the soundtrack and the night as visions of the Dionysians, Nantucket's original house band, fill your mind.
